Our Mission
Life after the military shouldn’t be a struggle. Project Trailhead provides the tools, guidance, and resources to facilitate a successful military transition.
Our mission is to help 100,000 veterans, service members, and military spouses navigate the transition process; helping build stronger individuals, families, and communities.
Our Story
The story of Project Trailhead begins in 2011 when founder Jon Griffith returned from a deployment to Iraq. Soon after returning, Jon began his transition to civilian life.
During the process, he quickly found that he was unprepared for everything the transition entailed. The lack of preparation led to countless challenges, mistakes, and lessons learned the hard way.
After joining Google in 2021, Jon was flooded with requests from veterans looking to take a similar path. In speaking with them, he noticed gaps in how others approached the transition process.
Project Trailhead was officially founded in 2022 as a way to provide scalable, realistic, and cost-free transition strategies to the military and veteran community.
Outside of Project Trailhead, Jon led operations for Google’s SkillBridge program and continues to mentor others through their transition.
